Over the period 29th of November to the 9th January there were 2,442 rent reductions.

The average reduction was €86 per month.

The average rent for all properties listed was €798 down from €806, 1%, in the last month.

This is down 38% from €1,286 in May 2008.

There were 242 rent increases over the same period, the average increase was €110.

The number of properties for rent in Ireland decreased to 21,884 from 22,400.
